| Do not thread into the sheetmetal, thats not helping anything. drill a hole just big enough for the screw pass through without any real interference. when you thread the sheetmetal you are taking away the screws ability to clamp the surfaces together. when you are "tightening" the only force you will be applying is between the head of the screw and the sheetmetal, and the weak threads in the fiberglass are being stressed.
